Cynthia Bioteau, who started as a special-needs teacher in public school and is now leading Florida State College at Jacksonville, is vowing honesty, transparency and never to respond to a reporter’s question with “no comment.”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A veteran educator with nine years under her belt in Salt Lake City is on the job taking the helm of Florida State College in Jacksonville.

Florida State College at Jacksonville's famed astronomer, scholar, author and professor of Astronomy, Mike Reynolds, Ph.D., will explore both the astronomical and historical aspects of the Star of Bethlehem as he weaves together possibilities for a puzzle from some 2,000 years ago.

A new president for Florida State College at Jacksonville arrives in January, auguring change for the institution. That's the best time to be in public relations, said Jill Johnson, who started her own new job as communications director for the college last week. "I liked the idea of transition," Johnson said. "It's a new era for FSCJ, and I wanted to be part of it."
