In the Times-Union: Couple [one an FSCJ Dance prof!] makes waves in world ballroom dance competition

Svetlana Rudkovskaya is a world-class ballroom dancer teaching as an adjunct at Florida State College at Jacksonville's South Campus. She and her husband, Pavel Cherdantsau, with whom she competes at international invitational competitions and teaches at their studio, the Jacksonville Dance Center, are both from Belarus. In November, representing the United States, they placed fourth in the World Showdance Championship, considered to be the Olympic equivalent of ballroom dancing. They repeatedly place in the top five, and have been invited back to compete again in 2014. A world-class competitor, teaching dance to Florida State College at Jacksonville students, an international transplant and an independent business owner.
