In partnership with the Florida Department of Education, FSCJ is excited to offer qualified students up to $3,000 to cover tuition, books, and certification fees for selected high-demand, non-credit programs that lead to industry certification through the Open Door Grant program. This program was established to help close the needs gap for skilled training and workers, provide more financial assistance to students and increase the interest of high-demand career training and technical education to current and future workers.

How do I find out if I qualify?

Students must complete the following to receive consideration for funding from the Open Door Grant Program:

Students must complete a FAFSA at Note: Students who participate in the Open Door Grant Program will not use any of their available Federal Financial Aid. Additional information and assistance filling out the FAFSA can be found here

Funds will be applied to student account once the application has been approved, student program/course registration is verified, and confirmation of a completed FAFSA. It may take up to 96 hours for the FAFSA to be reported to FSCJ after it is completed. Open Door Grant funds are for individuals that reside in Florida that are unemployed, under-employed or furloughed.
