Placement Testing

All new Florida State College at Jacksonville students are required to take a college placement test.

Students who live within the First Coast (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, and Union Counties) are required to take the placement test at a FSCJ campus. Contact the most conveniently located FSCJ campus assessment center to schedule the exams. To schedule your placement test, make a testing appointment.

For Remote students living outside of the First Coast area, please review the Remote Placement APS Form  and the Remote PERT Proctor Form. The forms must be completed and submitted at least two weeks prior to the desired testing date.  For additional assistance, please send an email to onlineremoteproc@fscj.edu requesting information on taking the college placement test as a remote student. You will receive a reply to your email request within two business days. You may also call (904) 997-2676 for assistance. Please note, Students are responsible for any proctor fees charged by the remote site.

Please also ask about the Senate Bill 1720 exemption. Students may qualify for the exemption if they meet the following criteria:

Senate Bill 1720 Information - Effective November 2013 under SB 1720, if you entered the ninth grade in a Florida public school in 2003 or after, graduated from a Florida public high school with a standard Florida high school diploma, OR if you are a student who is serving as an active duty member of any branch of the U.S. Armed Services, you will not be required to take placement testing.
