Academic advising is essential to the success of each student. Whether you are a new or continuing student, advisors provide the holistic support and guidance you need when making academic- and career-related decisions. Advisors are available on each campus to discuss your educational goals and the programs and courses available to help you meet those goals; help you understand the College’s rules, regulations and polices; and help you find information on transfer programs and how to best prepare to meet transfer requirements.
Advisors are here to help you make the best choices. Your level of participation is directly related to the type of relationship you have with your advisor. For a successful relationship with your advisor and to stay on track for graduation, you should:
- Meet with your advisor at least once per term
- Regularly review your academic advisement report within your myFSCJ Student Center
- Seek the assistance of an advisor if you are experiencing academic difficulties
- Routinely check your student email account for important messages from the College and your advisor
You are strongly encouraged to take advantage of academic advising services and to utilize the vast number of resources at the College.
