New Students
Application Fees (effective Oct. 1, 2013)
If you have never taken a class at Florida State College at Jacksonville before, the first step is to complete the College’s application and submit it to us electronically. Two documents are required for applicants to be classified as an in-state Florida resident for tuition purposes. Consult the online catalog for residency requirement information. Allow 24-48 hours for application processing. Paper applications are also available for the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degree programs and for the residency requirement information. You can submit the application to any campus enrollment services office or mail it to Florida State College at Jacksonville, Admissions Office, P.O. Box 40515, Jacksonville, FL 32203-0515.
The nonrefundable application fee is assessed when a student is initially admitted to Florida State College at Jacksonville. There is a $25 application fee for U.S. citizens and certain legal immigrants and visa holders. Your application fee may be paid by mail, online, or by visiting the business affairs office on campus.

Returning Students
If you have been away from the College for more than a year, you will need to update information on your application. Returning students are required to provide two documentations to classify as an in-state Florida resident for tuition purposes.
Official High School or College Transcripts
If you graduated from a public high school in Duval (after June 1989), St. Johns (after June 1993) or Clay (after June 1992) county, the College will request an official transcript after we receive your application. If you graduated from a public or private high school outside of Duval, St. Johns or Clay counties, please have your high school send an official transcript indicating your graduation date to Florida State College at Jacksonville, Admissions Office, P.O. Box 40515, Jacksonville, FL 32203-0515. If you have attended any other college or university, please request each school to forward your official transcript to the above address. All transcripts must be received and evaluated before a student can be approved for financial aid. If transcripts are not received within one term, subsequent class registration attempts will be blocked.

Assessment and Academic Advising
Contact the Assessment and Certification Center on any campus to take the required assessment for course placement. Students with SAT or ACT report scores less than two years old may use their test scores. New students will be directed to complete orientation and academic advising. Transfer students will be advised if assessment is required or recommended.
