FSCJ Invites Community to Participate in Local Needs Assessment Survey

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) is seeking input from community stakeholders related to Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs through the completion of a Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) survey.

The online survey will be used to collect comments about the work that is currently done as well as innovative ideas for the future. Examples of questions for input include:

  • Is FSCJ doing everything possible to help students get excellent careers?
  • Are there barriers that prevent some students from equitable participation in programs?
  • What areas of growth does FSCJ need to focus on?
  • What innovative ideas do local stakeholders have?
  • What can FSCJ do better to ensure equal access for all individuals to educational opportunities that meet the workforce development needs?
  • Are FSCJ programs aligned with the technical and employability requirements of Florida’s employers?
  • In what ways might FSCJ recruit, support and retain qualified teachers, counselors and administrators to foster the highest level of student achievement?
  • What will it take to increase engagement with industry partners to drive program innovation and work-based learning opportunities?

The CLNA is tied to the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act - reauthorization of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. With a focus on systems alignment and program improvement, the law has been critical to ensuring programs meet the ever-changing needs of both learners and employers. FSCJ receives the Carl D. Perkins, Career and Technical Education Postsecondary Programs grant to support the development of academic knowledge and employability skills for students who elect to enroll in CTE programs.
