FSCJ's dramaWORKS to Present "U.S. Drag"
WHAT: Florida State College at Jacksonville's (FSCJ) dramaWORKS will present “U.S. Drag” by Gina Gionfriddo. An absurdist mystery comedy about fear, fame and fortune, the FSCJ dramaWORKS production of “U.S. Drag” features 11 student actors and more than 10 crew members from all areas of the First Coast, with set and lighting design by Johnny Pettegrew and directed by Professor of Theatre Ken McCulough.
Winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for Playwriting.

About the play and production:
Two young women in Manhattan seek love and happiness, but they’ll settle for rent money. Along the way, they volunteer for a community advocacy group called SAFE (“Stay Away from Ed”) named for an elusive serial attacker terrorizing the city. And there just so happens to be a hefty reward for information about Ed’s identity. The girlfriends’ new circle of “friends” includes their socially stunted roommate, a celebrated author of a fictional memoir, a lonely man obsessed with crime victims, and a mousy “Ed survivor” reveling in her fifteen minutes of fame. Everybody is looking for salvation in the arms of another in a group where no one has very much to give. And who is this “Ed” anyway? No one’s ever seen his face, and everyone onstage is beginning to act eerily “Ed-like.”
