FSCJ’s VERTICAL program offers students with unique abilities an inclusive college experience, combining career readiness training with campus engagement and personal development opportunities. VERTICAL is proud to celebrate the successful completion of an enriching opportunity through Hands On Education and its partnership with Hyatt hotels, Hands On@Hyatt.

This collaborative effort provided VERTICAL students with valuable, real-world experience in the hospitality industry through an 80-hour internship. As part of their internship, VERTICAL students were placed in several key departments at Hyatt, including culinary, housekeeping, engineering/maintenance, stewarding and restaurant operations. These hands-on experiences allowed students to explore various career paths, gain practical job skills and build confidence in a professional setting.

This partnership with Hands On@Hyatt served as a powerful extension of FSCJ VERTICAL's mission, exposing students to real workplace environments in the supportive environment of a world-renowned hospitality brand.

We sincerely thank Hands-On Education and Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront for their partnership and commitment to inclusion. Their support helped make this experience both impactful and empowering for our students. Together, we continue to build pathways to employment, independence and a meaningful college experience.
