FSCJ Medical Laboratory Technology Associate in Science (A.S.) students participated in the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Super Cell Bowl, a hematology blood cell identification challenge, as part of their clinical rotations with Baptist Health.
Congratulations to Amari Dyson, Bryana Jackson, Nicholas Tumolo, Omar Natour, Kelly Paul, Danielle Dedios and Justin Lopez, who were victorious over University of Connecticut Medical Laboratory Science in the final match up to become the Super Cell Bowl 2024 National Champions! Danielle Dedios was named the season MVP.
The students competed with the Baptist Hem Dream Team and beat out two-year and four-year student teams from across the country. The program tests the scientific knowledge of students with team competitions that enhance their knowledge of blood cell morphology and build their professional networks, all while preparing them for the ASCP Board of Certification exams.
Each team member will receive a certificate from ASCP, the ASCP Board of Certification Study Guide book, online resources and will be featured in the ASCP Critical Values Publication! The trophy will be housed at the Baptist Medical Center Downtown Campus.
