FSCJ will be closed for spring break from Monday, March 17 – Sunday, March 23, 2025. We look forward to serving you when we return on March 24.
With the majority of FSCJ courses remaining online for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the College is mindful of the struggles many students experience due to a lack of access to basic online learning technologies such as computers, webcams and internet access. To address these needs, the College has formed a Student Technology Committee to identify the most effective and efficient means possible to meet student needs. The Committee has been working collaboratively to identify Federal CARES funding that could be used to provide laptops and webcams to students who meet specific award criteria.
The Committee has added a new Student Technology Lending Program which will be administered through the FSCJ Deerwood Library and Learning Commons (LLC). Students who are currently enrolled will be able to borrow a laptop and charger or a webcam for use throughout their full course term. To request equipment, students will simply visit the Deerwood LLC and complete a form accepting responsibility for the check-out period. At the end of term, they will return their items to the Deerwood LLC.
The program began on Monday, October 12, just in time for the Fall C7 Term. More details regarding program opportunities, student responsibilities and current equipment availability can be found here.
Faculty and staff are also encouraged to identify and refer students who may benefit from the new lending program. Many FSCJ campus and center LLCs are currently open to support student technology needs on site. However, for those students who may not be able to travel to a campus or center, the new technology lending program may be a perfect solution for technology access needs.
