Though social distancing may limit opportunities for face-to-face engagement with prospective and incoming students, Recruitment and Admissions staff are firing on all cylinders in the digital world. Team members continue to host virtual events daily, with three main sessions offered each week: "College and Career Exploration," "Why FSCJ?," and "Let’s Talk About Money."

Each live session has the opportunity for Q&A and provides invaluable information for students who are considering FSCJ for college and their families. Additionally, FSCJ programs have had the opportunity to spotlight their academic offerings to future students. Please go to visit.fscj.edu to see our full schedule of events, which is updated regularly.

In addition to our weekly events, FSCJ will be hosting “Form Your Future: Jump-Start to College” on July 23, in collaboration with community partners Earn Up, Year UP, City Year, DCPS, NCSD and UNF SOAR. This event is designed to help students prepare for the transition to college. Participants will hear from college representatives and peers, discover what they should be doing now to get ready, and will have questions answered during this interactive event.

On July 25, FSCJ will host our first-ever Virtual Open House. This event will provide an overview of the admissions process, a student panel, resources for students, and videos from FSCJ faculty and staff. In addition, students will receive a special message from President Avendano and Fall Term updates from Dr. Wall. Students will be able to register for this event soon through our virtual events page at visit.fscj.edu.   

Finally, with the start of the academic year upon us, comes the opportunity to nominate students for scholarships. Recruitment and Admissions is proud to manage the Adult Learner Scholarship, valued at up to $2,000 per term for full-time students. Guidelines and a nomination form are available here, with July 31 serving as the priority deadline for Fall 2020 nominations. If you have questions or would like to learn more, please contact Ms. Heaven Cleckler, Student Recruiter, at heaven.cleckler@fscj.edu.
