Medical Assisting Specialist (T.C.)

The Medical Assisting Specialist Technical Certificate (T.C.) program prepares students to perform administrative work in the health care setting, including patient communications, maintaining patient records, billing, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies and processing insurance claims as a medical assistant. Through medical assistant specialist instruction and hands-on training, students will be prepared to work alongside licensed health care practitioners in various health care settings.

Certifications/Licensing

Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the following examinations: Registered Medical Assistant Examination (RMA) offered by American Medical Technologists (AMT). Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET) offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
