Honors Scholarships

All students in the Honors Program are eligible for one of our Honors Foundation Scholarships. Eligible prospective students will be invited to interview with the Director of the Honors Program and members of the Honors Steering Committee, and scholarship recipients will be notified at the time of admission. Presidential Honors Scholarship

The Presidential Honors Scholarship is a merit-based award that provides students a waiver for in-state tuition and fees for up to 60 credit hours. This award covers up to 15 credits per term (fall and spring).

Scholarship Requirements

  • This scholarship is only available to students with 30 or fewer earned college credit hours.
  • Students must be admitted to the FSCJ Honors Program. The Presidential Honors Scholarship requires a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA for consideration.
  • Students must be active members of the FSCJ Honors Program and work towards completion of the Honors Associate of Arts Degree, which consists of the completion of 18 Honors credits.
  • Students must be enrolled full-time, twelve or more credits, for the fall and spring terms for four consecutive semesters.
  • Students must maintain a 3.5 Cumulative GPA and enroll in at least 3 Honors credits each term until completing the Honors Associate of Arts requirements.
  • Students must complete 10 hours of service-learning each academic term (fall and spring).
  • Students must maintain satisfactory progress towards their Honors e-Portfolio each term and submit it to the Honors Program (via Canvas) by the end of each term.
  • Residency and other restrictions may apply. Students must have a completed FAFSA on file with the College before the waiver is applied and the book supplement funds are disbursed.

    Students must complete an interview. This is a highly competitive award, so students are encouraged to apply early.

Honors Merit Award

The Honors Merit award provides students $250 each term, fall and spring, for up to a total of $1,000.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Students must be active members of the FSCJ Honors Program and work towards completion of the Honors Certificate or Honors Diploma.
  • Students must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA and enroll in at least 3 Honors credits each term until completing the Honors Program graduation requirements.
  • Students must complete a minimum of 5 service-learning hours each term of enrollment in the program (fall and spring).
  • Students must maintain satisfactory progress towards their Honors e-Portfolio each term and submit it to the Honors Program (via Canvas) by the end of each term.
  • Students must have a completed FAFSA on file with the College before the scholarship is awarded.

    No application is required for this award. All eligible honors students will receive the award each term they are eligible (subject to available scholarship funding).
