Adult Basic Education

The purpose of Adult Basic Education is to develop literacy skills necessary to be successful employees, citizens and family members. The program offers non-credit courses designed for adults who place below the ninth-grade level on a State-approved and College-preferred assessment tool. The Mathematics and Reasoning through Language Arts courses prepare students for career or high school level programs.

The course content develops basic skills in both literacy and mathematics. Once a student places at a ninth-grade level or above, they may register for Academic Skills Building (ASB) courses, if they already have a High School Diploma or credential, or GED® high school equivalency courses, if they need to earn their GED®.
