The Career Employees' Council (CEC) is the representative voice for the Career employees of FSCJ, with the goal to be committed to the continuous development of a collaborative work environment whereby the value and respect of Career employees are elevated through increased recognition, involvement and opportunities to achieve a higher degree of excellence. In this spirit, we put a "spotlight" on one of our members each mon

February’s Career Employees' Council Spotlight recognizes Administrative Project Manager Robin Sarge. Robin has worked at FSCJ for 17 years. She started as an Administrative Specialist at the Deerwood Center, after seven years, transferred to the AO and worked in Institutional Effectiveness. Missing the campus environment, she transferred back to Academic Affairs in the humanities department at South Campus. Ms. Sarge felt her calling was to be part of the bigger picture in academics and five years later, moved back to the AO but this time in Academic Operations and a year and a half later, she landed in the Provost's Office where she has been the last four years.

She coordinates a broad range of executive-level administrative support functions, including assisting all academic departments with the budget process planning each fiscal year. What Ms. Sarge enjoys the most about her job is how easy it is work with everyone both within her office and also all of academics. "Everyone has a common goal and we work well together to meet the needs of staff and students," she says. “I love what I do and wouldn’t change it for anything else. I love being the person people go to and being able to help them.”

Ms. Sarge has an A.A. degree and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Robin assists the goals and mission of the CEC by representing career employees in many search committees throughout her time with the college. She has served on many councils including the Policy Development & Review Committee. She has participated in a few Six Sigma projects, Stipend Process, document workflow/e-signature and BR/APM process.

When Robin is not working, she likes to spend time with her family. She has one brother and three sisters, many nieces and nephews and two great-nieces, most of which live close by and they get together as much as possible. Robin also enjoys watching her daughter play softball; it is a sport she grew up playing as well. To relax, she likes to put puzzles together and play with her pets: two greyhounds and three chinchillas.

Our spotlight seeks to showcase a CEC representative from each campus/center at least once a year. Nominations for the spotlight may be directed to the CEC Publicity Committee Chair Vanessa Gordon at CEC@fscj.edu.
