The Career Employees' Council (CEC) is the representative voice for the Career employees of FSCJ, with the goal to be committed to the continuous development of a collaborative work environment whereby the value and respect of Career employees are elevated through increased recognition, involvement and opportunities to achieve a higher degree of excellence. In this spirit, we put a "spotlight" on one of our members each month

January’s Career Employees' Council Spotlight recognizes Case Manager/Career Specialist Frantz Damas for his exemplary work and dedication. Mr. Damas has been a dedicated employee of FSCJ for nearly 10 years. He began his career with the institution in July 2015 as a Temporary Career DSS. In September 2016, he transitioned to the role of Student Success Advisor I within Student Life and Leadership, where he served for eight years before assuming his current position as the Educate Tomorrow Case Manager.

In this capacity, Mr. Damas oversees a program that provides supports for students impacted by foster care, adoption or homelessness, connecting them to the extensive resources available at FSCJ. He takes great pride in his role as a bridge between these students and the support services provided by FSCJ. He values the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students facing social, economic and emotional challenges, and he remains committed to fostering their success and well-being.

Mr. Damas served as the chair of the Election Committee, where he was tasked with organizing the elections using an electronic voting system. In doing so, he developed a system that had not previously existed within the CEC and created a comprehensive framework that led to the successful implementation of the electronic voting process, ultimately facilitating the election of the current CEC Board members.

Frantz holds professional training in Social and Political Sciences from ISPOS in Haiti. He is a double graduate of FSCJ, earning an Associate in Arts and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Management. Additionally, he holds two master's degrees: a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy from the University of North Florida and a Master of Arts in French Language from the University of New Orleans. Mr. Damas is also on track to earn a Ph.D. in Public Policy, focusing on Foreign and Social Policy, later this year from Liberty University.

Mr. Damas is also actively involved in volunteer work outside of FSCJ. Before assuming his current role, he managed the FSCJ Serves initiative, dedicating time each month to volunteer within the Jacksonville community. More information about his volunteer efforts can be found at https://serve.fscj.edu/. In his personal time, Mr. Damas enjoys traveling with his family and engages in meditation as a means to connect with universal energy.
