The Career Employees' Council (CEC) is the representative voice for the Career employees of FSCJ, with the goal to be committed to the continuous development of a collaborative work environment whereby the value and respect of Career employees are elevated through increased recognition, involvement and opportunities to achieve a higher degree of excellence. In this spirit, we put a "spotlight" on one of our members each month.
November’s Career Employees' Council (CEC) Spotlight illuminates on Administration Support Manager and CEC Treasurer Brandy Williams.
Brandy has been employed at FSCJ for over ten years. Her role entails her overseeing Collegewide institutional memberships, coordinating multiple departmental budgets and providing comprehensive support to the Strategic and Institutional Effectiveness department. What she most appreciates about her job is that it allows her to connect with colleagues across the College, enhancing her understanding of the institution's overall needs.
Ms. Williams plans to achieve the objectives of the CEC by strategically managing the organization’s budget and maintaining fiscal responsibility while upholding the values and integrity of her fellow career colleagues.
She is a proud FSCJ alumna with a degree in Human Services. Ms. Williams is also a U.S. Navy Veteran, and proudly says, "Go Navy!"
Brandy is a member of other councils and committees at FSCJ as a member of the Sick Leave Pool Committee and has had the pleasure to be a part of several hiring committees in the past year, helping to select many amazing FSCJ colleagues.
She also provides her life experiences and time to volunteer outside of FSCJ. She serves on her community’s HOA board, which includes more than 1,200 homes. As the president for the past 2.5 years, she enjoyed getting to know her neighbors, contributing to neighborhood improvements and advocating for her community, in addition to learning more about local ordinances and state laws that pertain to HOAs.
At the times when Brandy is not working, she cherishes spending time with her family, whether it’s taking trips to Disney, cooking, traveling to visit loved ones or exercising. “We’re doing it together!” she says.
Our spotlight seeks to showcase a CEC representative from each campus/center at least once a year.
