Faculty participation in the student recruitment process is essential. Enrollment development professionals and researchers emphasize that information on classroom environment, program rigor and career possibilities are significant messages these campus stakeholders can deliver to prospective students. The faculty’s voice brings the College’s value proposition to life, showcasing the actual academic experience.

A recent spontaneous conversation between a member of the Student Recruitment office and a school counselor from a Southside high school vividly illustrates the power of faculty-prospective student engagement. The counselor fondly recalled attending Techpalooza, a technology experience event hosted by the Information Technology team and supported by the Student Recruitment office, with her family. The counselor recalled how impressed her 11th-grade son was with the event and the professors he met that evening. The counselor stressed the personal touch, combined with the wonders of technology, made Techpalooza more impactful.
