Get to Know Your Fellow CEC Colleagues - Camilla Collins
The Career Employees' Council (CEC) is the representative voice for the Career employees of FSCJ, with the goal to be committed to the continuous development of a collaborative work environment whereby the value and respect of Career employees are elevated through increased recognition, involvement and opportunities to achieve a higher degree of excellence. In this spirit, we put a "spotlight" on one of our members each month
July's CEC Spotlight illuminates Administrative Assistant II Camilla Collins. She has been with FSCJ for 15 years, and her work pertains to assisting the Public Safety and Police Department. She orders supplies and uniforms for the security and police officers at all five campuses and two centers; manages the budget, tracking all purchase orders and processing invoices; assists with departmental and college safety trainings; and assists with modifying emergency procedure manuals and annual security reporting documents.
What Ms. Collins likes most about her job is the ability to interact and engage with such a highly trained and diverse group of individuals. She meets the objectives of the CEC by providing advice to enhance the College community for the betterment of Career employees, which includes part-time workers as well as full-time workers. She assists in the fundraising efforts to provide book scholarships, and serves as an alternative on the APM Committee.
Camilla has a dual Master’s in Business Administration and Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Allied Medicine, specializing in Gerontology. When not at FSCJ, she volunteers with Feed the Backpacks and enjoys self-care. She enjoys being on “my bean bag reading a book, swinging in my outside chair swing or listening to music.”
