The Career Employees' Council (CEC) is the representative voice for the Career employees of FSCJ, with the goal to be committed to the continuous development of a collaborative work environment whereby the value and respect of Career employees are elevated through increased recognition, involvement and opportunities to achieve a higher degree of excellence. In this spirit, we put a "spotlight" on one of our members each month.

February's Career Employees' Council (CEC) Spotlight illuminates Kent Campus Student Success Advisor II Anissa Jenkins. Ms. Jenkins has been employed with FSCJ for eight years. In her role, she assists students with career preparation and workforce development. She aims to continue as a "change agent" and build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and other stakeholders.

A staple of the CEC's objectives is to support student success. Ms. Jenkins assists students with resumes and cover letters, creating mission statements for themselves, and searching for internships and long-term employment.

Anissa holds an MA in Human Resources Management and a BA in Sociology with a minor in Psychology.

In addition to being a member of the CEC, Anissa Jenkins is a member of AFC (PARCC, NCDA – organizations related to career development/services). When Anissa is not at FSCJ, she enjoys writing poetry and home decor.

Our spotlight seeks to showcase a CEC representative from each campus/center at least once a year. Nominations for the spotlight may be directed to the CEC Publicity Committee Chair Vanessa Gordon at CEC@fscj.edu.
