Whitney Chefan was announced as the winner of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Florida North Kitchen Design Competition. She and the other students in the Summer 2017 Term kitchen design course were asked to create a universal design for a couple that wants to age-in-place. The students were provided an information packet and project parameters which they then submitted for judging by board members of the local NKBA chapter. Whitney was awarded a $500 scholarship to use toward her remaining courses in the interior design program at FSCJ.

"We would like to extend a big congratulations to Whitney and let her know how proud we are," said Professor Theresa Menotte. "We would also like to thank our local NKBA chapter for pairing with our program. Having the support of the local design community is what our program thrives on and helps us to continue to educate our students."
