FSCJ’s Military and Veterans Service Center partnered with the City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department to host a summit for Veteran entrepreneurs on June 14. With the understanding that the transition from military life to civilian life can be difficult, this summit was developed to help guide Veterans on starting their own businesses or making their current business more successful.
Hundreds of participants gathered at FSCJ's Advanced Technology Center to hear from a panel of business owners from different military branches and Veteran resource officials about best practices for new companies. More than 15 vendors, including government organizations, were on hand to provide valuable resources and share helpful information to attendees. Additionally, the event was streamed live and had more than 19,000 views from across the nation.

Project Coordinator for Military and Veterans Service Center Chris Johnson said, "The Vetrepreneur Summit was a big success. This event should empower local Veterans to achieve their dream of being a business owner which will in turn help the community grow."
