Did you know FSCJ has 25 programs with discipline specific program accreditation/approval?

Did you know FSCJ has 25 programs with discipline specific program accreditation/approval?

Much like going through a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation process, each of these programs have gone through a rigorous self-study and site visit process to validate that they meet their individual accrediting agency standards. Reaffirmation cycles are generally seven-10 years, depending on the specific accrediting organization, with each program submitting annual, biennial or mid-term reports in the interim.

The Office of Accreditation and Outcomes Assessment tracks and monitors each of these specialized program accreditations, maintains a centralized repository for all specialized program accreditation documents and serves as a resource to assist where needed.  Respective deans, associate deans, program managers and faculty in each of these programs work to ensure their curriculum meets industry expectations and standards, faculty are adequately credentialed and continually engaged in professional development, specific student learning outcomes are measured and analyzed for continuous program improvement, and where applicable, graduates successfully pass licensing exams necessary to secure jobs in the specific field.  While a complete list of all programs with specialized program accreditation can be found on the FSCJ website, special recognition goes to the programs who have achieved reaffirmation in the 2014-15 academic year:

  • Cardiovascular Technology (A.S.)
  • Funeral Services (A.S.)
  • Physical Therapist Assistant (A.S.)

In addition to the programs with specialized program accreditation, there are 17 more programs that maintain federal/state licensure or other recognition to ensure their programs also meet industry standards and graduates are properly prepared for the workplace.

Kudos to the faculty and staff of all of these programs for their commitment to the continued achievement and success of their students!
