FSCJ will be closed for spring break from Monday, March 17 – Sunday, March 23, 2025. We look forward to serving you when we return on March 24.
FSCJ's Center for Civic Engagement is shining a light on the students, faculty and staff who have given back to the Jacksonville community. During Spring Term, 382 FSCJ students worked with more than 80 community partners to complete 2,421 hours of service. Based on Independent Sector’s estimated value of volunteer time at $24.69 per hour, these students contributed nearly $60,000 to our local communities.
Through the Center for Civic Engagement's Service Learning Days initiative, students and staff took part in 17 volunteer projects.
“The experience was a very positive one for me...You never know what someone is going through. It really made me appreciate what we do even more.” – Faculty Member
“Service learning is an opportunity to learn and be involved in the community…I do think it is an important part of the learning process and for students who do the service learning option, they take away valuable information from their experiences.” – Faculty Member
To get involved (and your students, too!) in future service projects, visit the Center for Civic Engagement webpage. Opportunities are now scheduled for Summer and Fall Terms.
