On November 8, the Public Safety Management Program hosted its third annual Public Safety Symposium at FSCJ's Kent Campus. The event was a collaborative effort in conjunction with the Criminal Justice Department at Edward Waters College.

The event began with Keynote Speaker Todd Smith, Deputy Division Chief, City of Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Division. Breakout sessions discussing emergency preparedness were led by Assistant Professor of Emergency Preparedness at Edward Waters College Dr. Patrice McDaniel and Professor of Public Safety and Professional Studies at FSCJ Dr. Matthew Collins.

The afternoon session exhibited a panel discussion addressing “Community Preparedness and Juvenile Crime in Jacksonville.” The panel was comprised of a variety of members and was moderated by Professor of Criminal Justice Dr. Kenneth Davis.
