Our Associate in Science (A.S.) and Advanced Technical Certificate (A.T.C.) in Paralegal Studies are for students who are looking to advance in the field of law. Students will be exposed to elements of the law such as tort, family, real estate, criminal probate and estate planning. Students will also gain real-world experience prior to graduating by participating in an internship.

FSCJ’s passionate and experienced faculty teach students the practical expertise to prepare them for a career as a paralegal or legal assistant. The faculty of the paralegal studies program aim to help their students know more than just the theories of law. They want students to walk out of their classrooms having the writing, critical thinking, ethics and legal research skills to succeed after graduation.

Alex Salter, an A.S. in Paralegal Studies student here at FSCJ, says that students will not only know the law but will also know how to implement it and practice it.

FSCJ’s Paralegal Studies program is the only approved program in North Florida to be approved by the American Bar Association.

The associate in science degree creates a solid foundation for students to expand on in their career in law. The advanced technical certificate option allows students who already have a bachelor’s degree to start a career in law. Both options will leave students workplace ready for a future in a variety of legal environments.
