North Campus and Nassau Center Health Care Camp

For two exciting weeks in June, the FSCJ North Campus and Nassau Center hosted a week-long experience for high school juniors and seniors interested in future careers in health care.

Recognizing that the options available to potential students were quite varied, the experience was designed to introduce them to those options. One week was offered at the Nassau Center for Nassau County students and the second was hosted at North Campus for Duval County students.

The week of activities included career assignments, assistance available to attend college including financial aid and scholarships, hands-on lab experiences and a field trip to a hospital. The week ended with the CPR and first-aid training needed to apply to a health care program.

Feedback from the students was very positive and plans are underway to repeat these summer Health Careers Experiences for students again next year.
