January 2020 Recruitment Update

Jun 9, 2022, 12:55 PM
The Office of Recruitment and Admissions is excited for the start of the new year and with it, the Spring 2020 Term. As we kick-off the term, we want to share some important changes to our leadership team as well highlight some upcoming events.

We are proud to share two new members have joined the Recruitment and Admissions team: Associate Director of Admissions Ms. Erica Anga and Associate Director of Recruitment Ms. Jackie Kloin. Erica joins FSCJ after having led outreach efforts for the Extended University Programs at Western Michigan University. In her new role at FSCJ, she will lead efforts in the continued development of our new online orientation program along with developing a sustainable model for on-campus programming. Jackie joins the leadership team after four years as an Enrollment Development Coordinator, a role wherein she established relationships with schools and non-profits across the FSCJ service area. In her new role, she will provide principal leadership and continued outreach to our service area with a primary emphasis on high school populations. Please welcome Erica and Jackie in their respective roles if you see them at any of our campuses!

A new year also means lots of renewed programming and outreach. On January 11, FSCJ served as the primary sponsor for the DCPS School Choice Expo at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. As part of this event, representatives from both Recruitment and Admissions, as well Dual Enrollment, were onsite to meet with students and parents in attendance. Estimated counts by DCPS are that over 18,000 students and parents attended the event to learn more about educational opportunities throughout Duval County.

Additional public events taking place in January include a Career and Workforce Fair on Friday, January 24 at Frank H Peterson Academies of Technology; Form Your Future events hosted at the Advanced Technology Center and Nassau Center on Saturday, January 25; and a service area High School Counselor Workshop hosted on January 31 at the Nathan H. Wilson Center for the Arts at South Campus. In addition, on-campus orientation programs have started for students wishing to participate in programming whether they are attending the upcoming B/C Sessions or the Summer 2020 Term.
