Ginny began her career in college athletics in 1988 as a graduate assistant coach and worked her way to becoming a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I (DI) head volleyball coach.

In 1999, she created and implemented the NCAA Challenging Athletes’ Minds for Personal Success (CHAMPS) Life Skills program at San Diego State University for more than 500 student athletes. She went on to create two more CHAMPS life skills programs at Converse College as well as Brevard College, where she served as assistant athletic director for compliance and academic services and senior woman administrator. 

In 2011, Ginny returned to Jacksonville and worked as the director of membership, regional director and training coach at Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association. The Atlantic Beach native also served as a high school health and physical education teacher. From 2001 to 2006, she spent time as the director of programs for the Jacksonville Police Athletic League where she worked with both civilian and sworn employees, running athletic- and academic-based programs for at-risk youth.

Ginny also is a member of the Community Coaches Program through the Northeast Florida Nonprofit Center, which assists not-for-profit organizations in strategic planning and sustainability.

The Fletcher High School graduate was a three-sport athlete and member of Fletcher’s State Championship softball and volleyball teams. Ginny also played volleyball and softball for one year at Lake City Community College (LCCC), now Florida Gateway College, for Coach Jean Williams. She then transferred on to the University of Alabama-Birmingham to play NCAA D1 volleyball for Hall of Fame Coach Brenda Williams. 

It was there that she earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Social and Behavioral Sciences. She later completed her master’s in Education (Health, Physical Education and Recreation) from Bowling Green State University while coaching the men’s volleyball team.

Ginny lives in Fernandina Beach, where she enjoys fishing, kayaking and golfing.
