In an effort to build cohesiveness, awareness and collegiality, each month we put a “spotlight” on one of our members. Today our spotlight shines on our new chairman, William (Bob) Mark.

William (Bob) Mark began working for FSCJ as an adjunct instructor in 1995 and became the instructional program manager for the Culinary program 13 years ago. He has more than 30 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality fields.

After graduating from college, Bob worked in San Francisco and New Orleans before moving to Jacksonville in 1974. Here in town, he has worked for Victoria Station restaurants and the Jacksonville Hilton, owned and operated a gourmet French restaurant (rated four stars by The Jacksonville Times-Union), and ran an off-premise catering business for 13 years.

Bob holds a degree in education from Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania, a Hotel Restaurant Management degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business from Webster University. He serves on the North Florida Hotel & Lodging Association Board scholarship committee and the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Board of Directors, as well as on advisory committees for several high school culinary and hospitality programs.

Our spotlight shines on each campus/center at least once a year. Nominations for the spotlight may be directed to your campus representative or any officer.
