Accredited since 1975, Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) Respiratory Care Program has established a long outstanding history of successful students and graduates.

According to the most current data of graduates between 2012 and 2014, the program has the lowest attrition in the state of Florida, with 3.3 percent. Of 435 programs in the country, the Respiratory Care Program ranks within the top five.

The most recent graduating class (May 2015) achieved a 95 percent pass rate on the entry-level credentialing Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) examination. In addition, of those tested, graduates earned a 100 percent pass rate on the advanced-level Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) examination.

The program’s students volunteer their time with numerous community activities and events.  Most recently, students participated in a city-wide mass casualty event at Jacksonville International Airport.  They have also participated in a 5K event, raising money for lung cancer through the Free to Breathe organization, and on Saturday, February 6, students participated in the Fight for Air Climb at the Bank of America Tower in downtown Jacksonville. They helped to raise money for the American Lung Association.  Click here for more information about the event.
