On November 15, FSCJ joined KIPP Jacksonville for a signing event to celebrate a new partnership agreement to increase college completion rates for KIPP alumni from educationally underserved communities. FSCJ is the first college in the state of Florida to enter into this partnership.

As a KIPP college partner, FSCJ is committing to developing programs and support structures to address the college persistence challenges that students from underserved communities often face on their path to earning college degrees. FSCJ and KIPP will work together to develop a mentorship program aimed at increasing persistence of KIPP students, and KIPP schools in Jacksonville will serve as certified work-study sites for FSCJ students. Eligible KIPP students and alumni will be able to take part in FSCJ’s pre-college programming designed to help smooth the transition into college, including the College Reach-Out Program, Educational Talent Search, Gaining Research and Developing Skills, Format for Affecting My Enrollment, and the Pre-Early College Program.
