FSCJ welcomed community members and College stakeholders for Strategic Planning Day on April 28 at the Advanced Technology Center. Much like the 2014 event, the purpose was to gather input to be used to develop strategic goals for the coming years. The day was divided into two parts, with the morning session welcoming 61 community leaders and the afternoon hosting approximately 125 FSCJ faculty and staff members.

College President Dr. Cynthia Bioteau began each session with an update on the progress made since the 2014 adoption of the current strategic plan as well as the known areas of opportunity, enrollment and completion. The discussion was then facilitated by Kate Stewart, co-founder and executive director of the Jax Community of Entrepreneurs (JAXCoE), a nonprofit group focused on encouraging and supporting innovative and high-growth businesses in northeast Florida. 

During the morning session, community leaders provided their perceptions of the College as it stands today and offered input on the outcomes they would like to see in FSCJ graduates as they enter the workforce. The faculty and staff members provided their own feedback on the strategic goals. Their input, combined with that received during the morning session, will be used to craft the next iteration of FSCJ's Strategic Plan to be reviewed by the District Board of Trustees in August and finalized for adoption in September of this year.

"The feedback and input that was gathered during this latest Strategic Planning Day is extremely valuable as we begin the process of developing our goals for the next three years," said Director of Outcomes Assessment and Strategic Planning Dr. Angela Browning. "While it was encouraging to hear the positive changes that have occurred across the College, we look forward to identifying methods to address the key areas of opportunity and adopting a solid plan to move forward as we continue our vital student success efforts."
