The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a news release on May 16 announcing FSCJ's selection to receive funding to operate environmental job training programs for local unemployed residents. As one of only 14 organizations in the country to be selected for this grant which is funded through the EPA's Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) program, FSCJ aims to train 60 students and help at least 45 graduates gain employment in environmental jobs that reduce environmental contamination and provide more sustainable futures for communities that are most affected by solid and hazardous waste contamination.
