The criminal justice technology degree program hosted a guest panel event for one of its Introduction to Criminal Justice classes on Wednesday, March 16.

Presenters included State Attorney Angela Corey, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Recruiter Officer Andy Latimer, Chief of Social Services for the City of Jacksonville Johnnetta Moore and Chief of Probation for the Department of Juvenile Justice Donna Webb. Professionals in the field provided students insight into criminal justice careers as well as current issues facing the criminal justice system today.

The criminal justice technology program also provided students the opportunity to attend organized class site visits throughout the Spring Term to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s crime lab, the Duval County Courthouse and the Goode Pretrial Detention Facility.

Through the guest panel event and the class site visits, the criminal justice technology program is actively working with community criminal justice agencies to provide engaging learning experiences, valuable networking opportunities and holistic career guidance for students pursuing professions in criminal justice.
