The Florida Job Growth Grant sponsored the College's first-ever Welding Day on Friday, June 7. The event included a panel discussion featuring current grant recipient Daniel Hull, FSCJ Welding Instructor David Boutilier and John Carter and Ernie Aglugub from Jacksonville-based employer BAE Systems, Inc.

Participants were given a tour of the welding and fabrication lab by Welding Program Manager Steve Miller. Recruitment, financial aid and advising staff were on hand to assist participants with the application process and answer questions about financial aid. Participants also had the opportunity to apply for The Florida Job Growth Grant scholarship which may provide free training for eligible students.
