April Recruitment Update

Jun 9, 2022, 12:54 PM

As we speed towards the finish line of the Spring 2019 Term, the FSCJ Recruitment & Admissions Office is in high gear hosting and participating in a variety of different events throughout the service area.

The end of March brought with it several Application and FAFSA Labs along with various Why FSCJ presentations throughout the Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) and Nassau County School District (NCSD) service areas. With a particular emphasis on helping increase FAFSA completion rates, local high schools such as Andrew Jackson, Darnell Cookman and Hilliard Middle-Senior have already surpassed their final FAFSA completion rates from last year with several others close to meeting their goals for 2019. Robert E. Lee High School has reported record acceptance of seniors to post-secondary institutions with Early College Program School Counselor Dr. Keefe-Bowens, sharing that over two-thirds of the class have post-secondary plans “thanks to the collective efforts of the REL school counselors and the FSCJ Admissions team.”

In addition to continued application and FAFSA outreach, the Recruitment and Admissions Office hosted another FSCJ exclusive Career and Workforce Day at West Nassau High School and, in partnership with the FSCJ Financial Aid Office, hosted “Form Your Future: Financial Aid Homestretch” on Saturday, April 6 at the Advanced Technology Center.

This month also brings with it the start of Enrollment Assistance Days throughout Nassau County School District; a final FSCJ exclusive Career and Workforce Fair Day on April 12 at Wolfson High School; the Nassau Center Open House on April 18; and the start of the celebratory season as high schools begin their College Signing Day events which will run through the end of May.
