It was a busy Fall Term for the FSCJ Recruitment & Admissions Office, with the team participating in more than 150 recruitment events throughout our service area. These events included multiple visits to local area high schools as well as outreach to various community stakeholders, including non-profit organizations such as New Town Success Zone, Take Stock in Children and PACE Center for Girls. In addition, visits to corporations such as Amazon and Venus Swimwear proved to be popular among employees that qualify for tuition assistance programming. 

Recruitment highlights included sponsorship and hosting of the annual NACAC National College Fair at the Prime Osborn Center; participation in all of Duval County Public Schools annual BEACON (Bringing Economic and Career Opportunities Nearer) events; and attendance at Instant Decision Days at various local area high schools. 

As the team kicks off a new year, various events are scheduled for the month of January, including “Lunch and Learn” events with guidance counselors and principals at Nassau County Schools, career fairs, application days, FAFSA labs throughout the service area and Form Your Future events at the Advanced Technology Center and Nassau Center on Saturday, January 26. Beyond outreach, the team also added five new staff members in December who are serving as enrollment coaches. This newest group of staff are charged with outreach to new applicants, on-campus support (currently at South and Kent campuses) and assistance with new student orientation.
