The PERT is an untimed computerized placement assessment offered in a multiple-choice format. Students will be testing for proficiency in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and Advanced Mathematics.
No time limit; however, it generally takes 2 to 3 hours to complete.
If an FSCJ student must have placement on file, there is no fee for the first attempt. Each subsequent attempt is $32 per sitting. All candidates taking the placement for another institution must pay $63 per sitting, regardless of the number of subtests. All payments must be made by credit or debit.
The PERT is available to all FSCJ students who must have placement on file or are retaking to improve scores, provided college coursework in Reading, Writing, or Mathematics has not already started. If testing for Dual Enrollment, an up-to-date referral from your school or a Dual Enrollment Coordinator is needed. For more information you can go here.
