International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is a Geneva-based program of study offered through high schools throughout the world.

The program consists of a comprehensive system of courses and examinations that focus on the development of a high quality, liberal arts education. Florida State College at Jacksonville recognizes the International Baccalaureate and may award up to a maximum of 30 semester hour credits. Based on State of Florida Board Rules, students who have been awarded the IB diploma may be awarded semester hour credits in the subject areas for which they score four points or above on any higher-level or subsidiary-level IB examination.Students who have not been awarded the IB diploma may be awarded semester hour credits in the higher-level subject areas for which they score five points or above. No credit is awarded to non-diploma examinees for subsidiary IB examinations regardless of score.

Submitting IB scores and diplomas to Florida State College at Jacksonville is easy. After submitting an application to the College, bring or mail an original score report to the campus assessment and certification center nearest you. Copies cannot be accepted.
