Students may earn up to 45 semester hours credit towards a degree through credit by examination, which may be a combination of subject standardized tests and/or transfer credit.
Florida State College at Jacksonville awards credits according to the course equivalents* established by the State of Florida's Articulation Coordinating Committee (ACC). A copy of the ACC credit-by-exam equivalencies can be found at this link.
All credit-by-exam score reports must be submitted as an official record from the appropriate testing agency. FSCJ will enter all passing exams on the official score report, unless the student submits in writing a request for specific exams to be awarded.
FSCJ will follow the course equivalents outlined by the ACC; however, if the course is not offered at FSCJ, students will instead receive an elective credit. Course substitutions must be submitted to the appropriate dean or department chair for evaluation.
FSCJ accepts a number of credit-by-exams: AICE, AP, CCCE, CLEP, DSST, Excelsior, and IB.
FSCJ also provides College Course Challenge Exams (CCCE).
