Celebration of Cultures Photo Contest

Contest Rules and Information

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Complete this submission form with your photograph no later than November 1, 2023 .  All entries will receive a submission confirmation.  If you do not receive this confirmation, please contact the Center for International Education at global@fscj.edu. 

CONTEST RULES 

• Photograph must be the original work of the person submitting the image
• Photograph must have been taken within the last 24 months
• Photograph must not be digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered
• Photograph must have a title and be accompanied by a brief narrative (75 word maximum)
• Content of photograph must be appropriate and cannot include alcohol, drugs or related paraphernalia, illegal activities, or sexual content of any nature
• Contest only open to current FSCJ students, faculty, and staff
• Limit one entry per person
• All submissions must be sent electronically using this form, direct email submissions will not be accepted
• Photograph must be at least 2MB in resolution size and cannot exceed 10MB
  

JUDGING CRITERIA

• Creativity - Specifically, how did the entrant convey his or her message in an original and imaginative way?
• Subject Matter - To what degree does the photograph express a unique cultural perspective?
• Overall Impression and Impact - What emotions does the photograph evoke? What story does it tell? To what extent does it possess that WOW! factor?

SELECTION PROCESS

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded in the student category.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded in the faculty/staff category.  
Overall best narrative and quality of picture will be considered in selecting winners.

PHOTO DISPLAY

All winning photographs will be prominently displayed in the Center for International Education located at 101 West State St., Bldg. A, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202.  Additionally, all images will be exhibited in a PowerPoint Presentation on the Center for International Education's Webpage and at the International Education Conference.

Awards will be presented during the International Education Conference, November 8-9, 2023.
