In celebration of Computer Science Education Week, FSCJ hosted an Hour of Code event for students from Sandalwood High School. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science that helps simplify code instruction and break down the basics of coding.
This event was part of a global movement during December 8-14 to reach millions of students in more than 180 countries to expand the knowledge and awareness of computer science.
Fifty students from Sandalwood participated in this hour-long educational event at FSCJ South Campus. These students were able to use multi-level tutorials to practice their skills as they learned standard computer coding. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these students giving them a chance to experience actual work in one of the fastest growing industries.
