The BlueWave Volleyball Team moved up a notch in the Region 8 (State of Florida) poll to #6 after defeating previous #6 Hillsborough College 3-1 on Friday. The BlueWave team was the only team at the tournament to take #1 (in the state and the nation) Miami Dade College to five sets, losing 7-15 in the final set.

Cheryke Brian-Garmos and Kaylon Cruickshank (above) earned All-Tournament honors for their performance in the tournament. FSCJ tied for 2nd with a record of 3-1 during the two-day Tournament of Champions. The BlueWave team is 9-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

Highlights:

Cruickshank is ranked #7 in the nation with a .413% hitting average and #44 in blocks per set with a 1.0 average. Brian-Garmos is #27 in the nation with an average of 8.13 assists per set.

The BlueWave Volleyball Team is #8 in the nation with an average of 18.29 digs per set and #17 in hitting percentage with a .269 average. They are also 20th in the nation with 61 block solos.
