In celebration of Black History Month, FSCJ students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend and participate in any of the events we have planned throughout the month of February. Below are just a few of the events taking place:
Black Culture Explosion
Join us for the opening of Black History Month as we celebrate the rich heritage of the Black and African American community at our Black Culture Explosion at South Campus on Thursday, February 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Experience dance, literature and music, as we honor the traditions and rituals of the community. Black History Month Quote Board
The History and Heritage student leaders are creating a series of posters to honor key figures in Black History. These will be displayed at all campuses and centers throughout the month of February. Learn more.
We Have Come Over a Way: A Photographic Exhibit of African American Life and History
Visit the Kent Campus Library and Learning Commons for a Black History Month photographic exhibit focused on African-American life and experiences in Jacksonville and surrounding areas beginning Monday, February 5 through Wednesday, February 28. Learn more.

How much do you know about Black History? Come watch students, faculty and clubs be tested on their Black History knowledge on Thursday, February 22 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Downtown Campus. Learn more.
