We would like to say congratulations to Dr. Ian Neuhard, Kent Campus president, for receiving the American Association of University Administrators (AAUA) Leo and Margaret Goodman-Malamuth Outstanding Dissertation Award.

It all started with a $175,000 JP Morgan Chase grant, which was awarded to the Military and Veterans Service Center (MVSC) to provide a career development coordinator and a student advisor knowledgeable in military programs for one year.

Dr. Monica Franklin, Professor Glenda Miller, Dr. Jeff Smith and a recent FSCJ dental hygiene graduate attended the grand opening ceremony of the new Healing Hands Dental Clinic last month.

Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Institute for Food Safety presented a two-day workshop on microbial detection techniques at the College’s Advanced Technology Center on June 5 and June 8.

Keith Walters, recent graduate from FSCJ, took a few moments to express his appreciation to Dr. Bioteau for the knowledge and experience he received from FSCJ as a whole.

For two exciting weeks in June, the FSCJ North Campus and Nassau Center hosted a week-long experience for high school juniors and seniors interested in future careers in health care.

FSCJ was joined by parents, students and the community at the recent Project Achieve Graduation on August 20, 2015 at FSCJ Downtown Campus.

The 2015 National Urban League Conference was held July 29-August 1, 2015 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Recently, I began my eight week HUM 2020 Special Topics course on The Cultural Significance of James Bond at my home base, the Nassau Center. The course is called "Views to A Kill: The Many Faces of James Bond."

On September 17, 2015, FSCJ South Campus held its seventh annual Constitution Awareness Day at the Nathan H. Wilson Center for the Arts.

We would like to commend a few of our athletic teams for their recent involvement with some of our local community partners. We are proud of their efforts and dedication to support those in our community in need.

There are many things to consider when there is an active shooter on campus and on September 16, 2015, Captain Maddox took to Center Stage at Open Campus/Deerwood Center to teach students how to protect their life.

This year was another successful year for the Blocktoberfest opening and exhibit at FSCJ South Campus.

In collaboration with the FSCJ Author Series 2015-16, “The Bosnia List,” the Library and Learning Commons (LLC) wants to share stories of the refugee experience in Jacksonville.
