Below are some helpful resources to get you started on your journey:

  • College Navigator-This website allows you to compare almost 7,000 colleges and universities when searching by location and/or academic program.
  • The Education Trust: College Results Online-This website allows you to use an interactive tool to find out the student graduation rates at colleges and universities and compare rates of institutions with similar student populations or characteristics.
  • Office of Student Financial Assistance: State Grant and Scholarship Programs-This website provides a list of each State of Florida Grant and Scholarship Program, many of which can be used by community college transfer students to help pay for your education at the college or university where you transfer. Some of these programs include private colleges and universities in Florida in addition to the state universities. This website also includes application procedures and forms, tools for mapping and calculating your future educational costs and award status.
  • U.S. Department of Education: Nationally Recognized Accrediting Agencies-This website lists the regional and national accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as reliable authorities concerning the quality of education or training offered by the institutions of higher education or higher education programs they accredit.
  • CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation)-This website provides information about accreditation organizations for higher education, including national accreditation organizations that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Accreditation Mills and Diploma-This website provides important information about how to avoid institutions that offer degrees that may have not be legitimate institutions of higher education or may not provide the level of quality deemed acceptable by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
  • American Council on Education (ACE)-This website describes the mission of the national organization designed to encourage collaboration among higher education institutions and with other organizations, and facilitate the transfer and award of academic credit for nontraditional learning.
