FSCJ’s Culinary Management Program Receives American Culinary Federation Accreditation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) Culinary Management Associate in Science (A.S.) degree program was recently identified as “Exemplary” and accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation’s Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC) through 2026.

To qualify as Exemplary, a program must be confirmed in full compliance with ACFEF standards. Through a comparison to nationally recognized ACFEF standards, an evaluation team determined that the program had substantially met all eight required areas: Eligibility, Program Mission and Goals, Organization and Administration, Faculty and Staff, Curriculum, Facilities, Student Services and Assessment.

“We are so proud of our entire Culinary and Hospitality Management team, including our students who inspire us through their work and the dedicated faculty and staff who share their passion and knowledge for the culinary arts,” said College President John Avendano, Ph.D. “I am continually impressed by the high-level of cuisine and service this team of students and instructors provides and am pleased they have received this well-deserved honor.”

FSCJ’s A.S. in Culinary Management educates, trains and develops students for employment in production line and supervisory positions in the culinary arts industry. Student competencies are developed through theory, laboratory and retail restaurant experience, their work in the College’s simulated restaurant environment, Cafe Frisch, and culinary internships in local restaurant and hotel kitchens.
