JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) has been selected as a host institution for the Central American Youth Ambassador (CAYA) program for May 16 - 23, 2017. CAYA is a United States Department of State youth exchange program designed to strengthen the leadership skills of young people from Central America and the U.S.
For one week, FSCJ will host 22 high school students and three mentors, offering educational workshops in leadership, entrepreneurship, community service and environmental issues. The CAYA program offers talented youth ages 15 - 18 from Belize, Cost Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama the opportunity to travel to the U.S. to develop their leadership skills and expand their knowledge of American culture and society.
FSCJ is looking for local families to host these exchange students during their visit. Preferred qualifications for host families include:
